RE Y9 trip to Khizra Mosque
Y9 visited Khizra Mosque in Cheetham Hill.
UKIM Khizra Mosque is part of the UKIM. The UKIM is one of the oldest nation-wide Islamic organizations in the UK. It was founded in October 1962 on the initiative of a small group of Muslims who used to meet at the East London Mosque in a study circle. Our students explored the basic tenants of Islam whilst learning a lot about the diverse nature of Cheetham Hill (Did you know the main street has the most spoken languages in England?!). We also learnt about the links the Mosque has with the community e.g. how they responded to COVID. Thank you to Khizra Mosque for your hospitality and for providing a great experience for our students.
