On a warm and crisp afternoon, the year 7 rugby squad travelled to the AJ Bell stadium (home of Sale Sharks and the Salford Red Devils) to take part in pre match tournament before watching the Red Devils take on the might of the Leeds Rhinos. Our relatively inexperienced squad developed enormously as the tournament progressed, and we gained 2 victories from 6 games against some really tough opposition. Playing on the 4G pitch in bright sunlight, our boys were incredibly plucky in their defensive efforts and at times the will to keep the opposition players away from the try line was titanic in scale. All the players gave 100% and Mr Dutton was very proud of the way in which they performed. As a squad they are getting better with every match.

After the tournament, both players and some parents watched the fixture between the Salford Red Devils and the Leeds Rhinos. It was a thrilling fixture and the competition between the sides meant that the action was fast and fluid with the scoreline changing continuously. Salford came out on top after some incredible tries. All in all the trip was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and the squad are looking forward to more rugby league!
