Mrs Wallis Delivers Talk at Teachers Talk Connect

Mrs Wallis Shines at Teachers Talk Connect with Insightful Talk on Retrieval Practice

On Saturday, 1st March, Stretford Grammar School’s Director of Science, Mrs. Lucy Wallis, took centre stage at Teachers Talk Connect, delivering an engaging and well-received talk on Retrieval Practice in Action.

As a passionate advocate for evidence-based teaching strategies, Mrs. Wallis shared her expertise on how retrieval practice enhances student learning and memory retention. Her presentation provided practical insights, real-world applications, and strategies to embed retrieval practice effectively in the classroom.

For the past two years, Stretford Grammar School has been actively involved in the Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF) Embedding Formative Assessment project, a research-driven initiative aimed at improving student outcomes through effective assessment techniques. Mrs. Wallis has been a keen supporter of this initiative, championing its principles within the school and beyond.

Her talk resonated strongly with educators in attendance, sparking discussions on the impact of retrieval practice and its role in fostering deeper understanding among students. The overwhelmingly positive response underscores the importance of such strategies in modern teaching.

We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Wallis for representing Stretford Grammar School and sharing her expertise on such a crucial aspect of teaching and learning.
