The first game of the season was against Urmston Grammar. The team started strong in the first third, only behind by 2 goals, with a score of 4-2. Urmston then pulled away in the second and final third and the score ended 12-3. A strong opposition for the first game but gave the team lots of encouragement in the centre and attacking third. Amelia Higgins played really well at Goal Attack and was crucial on centre passes and getting the ball into the circle. Isla Ritchie has shown great improvement at Goal Shooter and the defence of Maddie Cookson and Maryam Asr worked incredibly hard but came up against experienced shooters from Urmston.
